SBQ – 28th July 2007

Filed under: SBQ — xstitcherzo @ 4:29 pm

Today’s SBQ was suggested by Dani  and is:

Have you ever thought of getting a rider on your household insurance to properly cover your stash (some of us have quite an extensive stash that an average household policy wouldn’t fully cover) in the case of some sort of damage to your house that would destroy/ruin charts, fabrics, floss, etc?

It’s funny when I read this week SBQ as I actually have a rider insurance on top of covering for the basic household insurance policy. 😉

State of Moping

Filed under: Rants — xstitcherzo @ 12:57 pm

I’m in the state of moping around at the moment.  I really wish someone would tell me how to kill my husband without being caught. Can someone just do it for me. As long as it does not come back to me.

Don’t think I even bother if he comes back to haunt me. As I would just complain to the Ministry of Magic…now which dept did Moaning Myrtle gets….and be done with him.

Off now…to mope at my pathetic mind. 😦

Harry Potter 7 Spoilers Warnings

Filed under: Books + Read — xstitcherzo @ 9:00 am

Harry Potter did not die. The Dursleys died leaving Dudley. Someone got married in the end. Snape went to Azkaban.

There you go….I’ve spoilt everything…lol. But then I might be wrong…lol 😉

So go on…open the last page and tell me what really happens. I mean the 2 last pages. That’s what she always do…sum up everything on the last few pages.

Carrie’s Creations Threads Haul

Filed under: Stash Galore — xstitcherzo @ 9:43 am

Enough of moping around from the latest SBQ’s….let’s post something cheerful. Look at my latest thread haul from BJ. Carries Creations Threads. They are rough to touch but feels alive in my hand. I got 6 Jellyfish to stitched for Cheryl’s Bouquet. And some extra threads…just in case… 😉

L to R : 1=Desert Bloom, 1= Wildfire, 2= Sunburst, 1 = Tropical, 1=Tie Dye, 6 Jellyfish.

When I’ve lined them all up…they all look identical…Sheesh…something is seriously wrong with my eyes. Oh well. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Today’s SBQ was suggested by Ish (http://ishsuth.wordpress.com) and is:

Which project (finished or in progress) are you most proud of? Explain why

To begin with, I’m proud of all of my projects but one thing that really stands out…is this redwork. It’s a design that was taken from a bit of others. It looks simple and nothing so profoundly different but it is different. I am disappointed at my finishing techniques though which I am sure that the recipient must have felt the same way. 😦

SBQ – 19th April 2007

Filed under: SBQ — xstitcherzo @ 10:59 am

Let’s do one more SBQ before I listen to book 2 of Harry Potter.

Today’s SBQ was suggested Danielle (http://scopist.blogspot.com/) and is:

Are you on “The Wagon?” If so, how long have you been on and how “serious” are you about it? If not, have you considered it?

I’m not on “The Wagon” as I don’t see it as being wise to restrict my spending on something beautiful and a must-have moments…lol. I’ll just limit my spending budget so that I don’t go overboard only. That way I still can get what I wanted despite knowing that I would not start stitching them straightaway or like 5 months later. But still…I must have it.

And buying from Ebay or others used charts/books/leaflets is a good idea too. Save more to buy more.

Today’s SBQ was suggested by The Wagon (http://thewagon.yuku.com) and is:

What do you love to do that many people hate? What do you hate to do, but do anyway?

I can’t really say what people hate to do….all I can see from mags and stitching bloggers blog is that alot of them hate doing French Knot….which I find it rather odd….as French knot is quite simply easy to do…just the right tension when you wind the thread on your needle and the short pull…Voila! and you are done.

I used to hate spot stitching…but now I find them a breeze with embroidery needle.

So what do I hate….well not really a hate but more of a dislike but certainly a necessity…the dreaded BACKSTITCH!!. Yup….I don’t like BS.

SBQ – 03rd July 2007

Today’s SBQ is: Do you consider yourself a “floss miser?”

If it meant, stitching to the very end…I’m afraid I am guilty of that charge. I rather not use a new thread just for the remaining 4 to 5 stitches. Don’t see the logic in it.

I don’t buy threads in bulk quantity either like many that I knew and of course I could only envy them, for the prices of these OD threads can easily burn my whole year of salary in seconds. Now that is not good….so instead of getting the  “ex” necessary threads…I just substitute with DMC….cheaper but practical on my pocket. 😉

SBQ – 22nd June 2007

Filed under: SBQ — xstitcherzo @ 10:34 am

Today’s SBQ was suggested by Kathryn (http://threadsofdesire.blogspot.com/) and is:When you start a new work do you look for something small, do you look for another huge project or do you consider your UFOs?

Definitely would look for something else to get the momentum going and I’ll start by digging up my UFO’s first and if they do not struck cord, I just start something new….hehehe

Today’s SBQ was suggested Jennifer (http://astitchinwrinkledtime.blogspot.com/) and is:

How do you store your WIPs and other projects that you have kitted up?

I store them in protector sheets with the copied charts and necessary fabric as that way I can see what project that I have store.
