Digging up Old Finished
I found my cross-stitching books and lots of aida that have been kept away for so long. I wonder why I bought a red aida. Must be in the Christmas mood last year as Margaret Sherry had released her Xmas critters and I just can’t wait to stitch them. Thinking plain aida would be too plain and thought of trying something new, I opted for red instead. Should have gone with oatmeal or sparkly inset, much better but than alas.

They are both done for my surveyors. Really quick and easy to do. I did not manage to take a snap after they went into the cards as I was rushing as they had to leave that very day itself before they went to Philippines. Talk about rush job.

Lost Needles
This is the 2nd time I lost my needle while stitching on the MRT (train) The 1st time, it was wedged between the seat and the glass pane. The 2nd time, it simply slip off my fingers and down it goes between the 2 cabin. Both time, while I was trying to unpicked the wrong section….Aargh. I need to get a magnetic finger so that it sticks. The good things about losing the needles is that I forget to pack in an extra for the just in case.

Digging Up My Past
I was going thru some of my stuffs at home (sis knows how many stuffs I have at home) And discover the previous attempts at my cross-stitch, beading and embroidery all fuse together. My UFO’s that would be completed one day (dated 2002). Now that I’ve learn the right technique to cross-stitch properly, no knots, bumps or camel humps, it would be completed.
All of them are done on DMC black aida, cut to suit a card. I’ve even bought the cards. I used to think that black is sexy and mysterious how wrong I was when it is difficult to poke thru the fabric.
This is done with green sequined glittery cloth meant as the vase and flowers which is supposed to be tulips are created by bullion knots.
Normal cross-stitch, I stopped halfway as I lost the pattern.
The flowers are made by lazy daisy stitch and french knots. The vase supposed to be divided into 3. 1 filled with cross-stitch, another fill with beads and can’t remember what happen to the 3rd gap.
Meant to be spray of roses by bllion knots but lost of interest and chuck to one side.
I lost the pattern ot begin with. Stitched with DMC rayon but due to inexperience and lack of patience with the weirdness of the thread, I move to next one.
Everything went all right, when I discover the goose have gone beyond it’s limit. Don’t feel like de-frog it so was put to sleep

Happy Mother’s Day
This is done by my male colleague, Arnol Gajeto for his mum. Now that I can post, I’ve updated all my draft posts to have pics on them. From Q&E freebie.

Scruffy Owl
Thank you so much Karen. Now I’m able to post pics as try using Hello previously and NO go for me.
This is done by my colleague, Siti. With constant pushing and not allowing her to bring the owl but doing it in the office, she finishes it. Taken from Q&E (if I’m not wrong)…Featuring various scruffy owls. The colour have been changed. The frame cost S$1.05 for 2 (35p) from Value Shop.

Slow Progress
Since I couldn’t post a pic, let me type what I have done so far. Ears, nose, 2nd tone is done. 30% of the 1st tone, 25% into the 3rd tone. Left with the 4th tone, the darkest bit. By now, you could have guess what creature it’s gone to be. Couldn’t decide on the background. As the background would match with the cloth but not the designs…hmmm…. Have to get the 3rd and 4th done by tonight…burning the midnight candle.
I’ve just bought June issue of Cross Stitch Crazy and Tatty Teddy on the front page is beckoning me to stitch him. I would not be using the greys, I think I try doing it in different normal colours.

Medical Leave
Was on medical leave last Thursday. Body was going for a shut-down and had to slow down. Now I’m up and running again. Not much stitching is done on Namuelle’s fabric. Just the purple, green, red are done, still have yellow, prussian blue and luminous pink to go….lol….Just kidding. Have a good weekend everyone.
"Stitching Blogger’s Question"
What do you like least about cross stitching?
I started with confetti, tweeding with brown patches, backstitching, frogging, counting the holes and still get it wrong, neck pain, strain my eyesight. Kit that comes with colours almost the same and it is not SORTED! As I read thru what others had said on their blog, I realised there is nothing that I like least about cross-stitching.
All the frustration, anxiety, loss of sleep, spending hours on doing them, makes it all worthwhile when it is completed. Brings a great satisfaction to me.
